Need to say this out loud to someone

My sense of humor has carried me through, too. It’s a good thing that we can laugh at all some days. I hope your hip improves and you feel better soon.

Thank you Cindy.I didnt want to do anything that felt celebratory as that didnt feel right, so i thought something to honour her like that would be appropriate.Take care

Thank you Nancy123
I’ve got a lot to learn with energy healing though.
You are very lucky to have met Barbara Brennan, she was so gifted. She proves to us that the Human Energy Field is really there to be accessed because she could see it and determine people’s state of health from it.
I will probably buy Hands Of Light because it might cover some of the aspects I need in more detail.
Thank you for your fascinating story.

The way I met her was I went for healings to one of her then senior teachers. The school was very small. They mailed me a small brochure w/ maybe 10 healers on it. I think this was very karmic because I had a long standing issue which needed healing when I found her. The original Hands of Light book was a very heavy book w/ illustrations. No one would publish it. She self published these, as I recall, spending her savings doing it (what she had then). Bantam picked it up after that. The lesson for us, she would say, is that you have to risk to find your purpose, essentially follow your intuition.

Thank you Nancy123
Amazon seems to have the paperback version in stock but I’m going to read Core Light Healing again because it has been a while since I picked it up. There are no illustrations in Core Light Healing, you have to download them from the internet.

Talking of intuition, when I was looking for a poem to use at my wife’s funeral “Death is nothing at all” by Henry Scott Holland leapt out of the Internet for me and it was perfect because it was almost as though my wife was speaking directly to me.

My wife always had a ‘thought for the day’ calendar and I’ve kept the tradition going. Quite often the thought is very relevant which I take as a sign. Last week I got the message “All is well”, which is how Death Is Nothing At All finishes. I felt she was reminding to read the poem again.
Then a couple of days ago I was near a small filing cabinet and felt the need to open one of the draws. Just inside was a small laminated card, about the size of a playing card, with the poem printed on it. Clearly my wife valued that little card, possibly in memory of her mother, and I feel she has now gifted it to me. It also shows the poem meant a lot to her and that’s why she made it her clear choice for her funeral.

Intuition definitely is a thing!

Yes, intuition is a real thing. I’m so glad you are getting confirmations from her. These are real. I received them, too, and wrote down most of them. They were esp. prevelant the first two years. When I am really down, I seem to get one, too. I have heard NDE people say death is like taking off a heavy rain coat, not to worry. But, we are still mere mortals w/ all of the fears, etc., which I work to diminish as many of them as I can.

Hi Nancy I am glad you get these feelings, I wish I did but my wife’s last breath was her calling her mother and I hope they are together

Wishing you all the best Tom

I can’t say for sure, but I have heard it is common to see deceased relatives when you are passing, they are there for you. Give yourself time as far as getting information/feelings. You will get confirmation and things out of the ordinary. Try to trust what you are getting without analyzing too much. I am analytical by nature and always want proof, too.

Hi Tom
Nancy123 is right. If you have read any of the books about Near Death Experiences you will know that as death approaches it is very common to be met by a guiding spirit who is often a deceased close family member. Please don’t harbour negative thoughts about your dear wife’s last words.

As far as signs are concerned you just have to suspend disbelief and start making notes. Individually they probably mean very little but over time should add up to something very positive.

Like Nancy123 I always wanted proof of everything before I would commit but there is definitely something going on and it brings me great comfort.

You didn’t let her down. The medical staff needed their space and you needed the space to cry so that when you were with her, you could give her the best of yourself. Imagine if you broken down badly with her, you would’ve regretted that. We all do the best we can and like you I was with my loved one when they died and although it was so so hard, I will never be sorry. I’m nine months in finding it terribly hard and still waiting to find joy in life again but she would be so disappointed if I didn’t find a way to carry on so I continue putting 1 foot in front of the other and hoping for better times. Hugs and just keep going.

Hi @Twoflower what a lovely post. I have very recently unexpectedly lost my husband following a four week stay in hospital. During this I was told numerous times that he wouldn’t survive but despite all the odds being against him he kept on. Until he didn’t. They made the decision to take him off all support, he was in intensive care in a hospital that has all private rooms so they just took everything away, turned the monitors off (although they had their ones on the nurses station outside), shut the door, pulled the blinds down and left us together. I had never realised I’d be brave and strong enough to stay with him at the end but when the time came and they explained they were going to withdraw support there was no way you could have dragged me away from him. His passing seemed to be peaceful (he never regained consciousness from the induced coma they had put him in) but walking away from him knowing that I would never seen him again is the hardest thing I have done in my life. I’m in the middle of planning the funeral right now but am dreading life beyond that.

Dear ScruffyWuffy I am sorry to hear about your husband. The pain of losing your loved one is unbearable. I thought I was prepared in some way after two years of cancer treatments but the day my wife died in my arms was horrific. I felt as if I had been physically hit, I don’t think anyone understands what it’s like until it happens to them. I hope you find some solace here where everyone understands the pain of a bereavement.

Thinking of you and sending hugs

Hello scruffywuffy, im so sorry for the loss of your husband, I lost my husband in march, just as you described your loss, is what happened with my husband, he was placed in an induced coma, never woke up again, after 3 weeks, he was taken off life support, they put him in a private room, no more checking his blood pressure, or his sugar, nothing, just morphine. That was the saddest moments of my life. I was able to stay with him until he passed away 2 days later..that was the hardest and saddest thing I ever did was walk away from my precious husband…I hope you have support around you we all need it..and i hope this site helps you as well..take care and may God bless and comfort you during these difficult. Moments

@Lightmary68 your husband’s passing sounds similar to mine. He was also put on morphine and a muscle relaxant to keep him comfortable, as he was in intensive care it’s 1:1 nursing so his nurse at the time sat outside and left us alone together. The senior nurse came in to speak to me after he’d gone and spoke to me for about 45 minutes. Then I was able to spend as long as I wanted with him. He was treated with kindness and dignity by the Doctors and Nurses although it was such a tragic outcome.

Hi @Scruffywuffy
I am sorry for your loss , I lost my husband suddenly 11 months ago . Nothing can ever prepare you for losing a loved one . We all understand the pain and how difficult it is . Take a day at a time and don’t look to far ahead.

Hi @Scruffywuffy

I am so very sorry for your loss.

It’s not until it actually happened that I could understand quite how it felt. Even now I would struggle to explain it to someone. Although I believe those who have gone through it understand.

I hope and pray that you find some peace.

Keep posting, this is a very supportive group.

Take care
