Proof of Afterlife

My mother and I found Colm Keane’s books on the afterlife very comforting when my Dad died. Mr Keane approached the topic like a journalist (he and his widow worked in current affairs for the national broadcaster in Ireland, RTE), interviewed survivors of near-death experiences and quoted experts including scientists. These books are full of evidence of life after death and of the existence of the eternal soul. Here’s an article from the RTae website about Mr Keane and his widow, Una O’Hagan:

Hi, my mum passed away 5 months ago (nearly 6 now). I got the call from my Dad on Easter Sunday morning at 9:50am.

You asked how I was coping? Simple answer is, I’m not. I appreciate and fully understand that everyone is different, but personally, it’s getting worse as the days slowly morph into weeks. I genuinely can’t remember who I was before mum passed away. At my lowest points I feel emotionally, spiritually and mentally broken. If baffles me how life seems to just continue; the buses run as normal, the postman carries on as normal, and my world has been ripped apart.

Sometimes it’s just easier to tell people you’re ok, even when you’re not. Are they asking because they care, or just being polite? And if they do care, do I tell them the truth, or just what they probably want to hear.

It’s good you’ve got something to help you sleep. I find when the world goes quiet, the voices get louder.

Are you managing to eat much? x

It feels like a silly question when people ask how you are. I guess they don’t know what else to say. I’d prefer to be left alone but also take comfort in those who have been through it themselves. I find the dreams and visitations people have had so real.

I do find as time goes on I’m getting closer to the day to seeing her again. However it feels like forever away. I’ve not even reached 30 yet but who knows how long I’ve got left.

Thanks for sharing how you are and it’s okay not to be okay. There’s no easy way to get through this. I’m just sorry it’s happened. I don’t wish this upon anyone. Not sure what the point in life is if the end is the inevitable, I just pray the afterlife is as good as it’s supposed to be and it does exist and we’ll all be reunited with our loved ones there for eternity. I hope I’m not born into a new life and have to go through this ordeal all over again. Life now feels like a prison sentence without them.

This time last month I had no idea what was about to hit me. The worst thing that could’ve ever happened.

In short I’m not sure I’m coping either x

Hi @DublinDaughter thanks for sharing! I’ll look into this. I have been looking at near death experiences too, a lot of people say they are floating above their body and they can remember things happening while they’re being operated on, which no scientist could explain without life after death being real.

Hi Dublindaughter

I’m Irish too and know of this couples heartbreak at the loss of their son. And for Una to lose her husband too is so devastating. I’m in a similar position, lost my son in a car accident in 2008 and now my wonderful husband last October.

I haven’t read the books so will definitely check them out. Thank you for the info on them. So sorry for your loss too.

Thank you so much for this it’s really appreciated. Was there a particular book by him you’d recommend?

“Going Home” was the book we both read when my Dad passed (a priest gave it to my mother), but I believe all his books are very comforting and reassuring.

I hope people can share their stories freely on any ghostly interactions, dream visitations, supernatural experiences, anything at all! Would be really appreciated. I understand people feel uneasy about this topic so totally understand if people don’t want to share x

When my husband died I didn’t feel him around or have any dreams. No white feathers falling from the sky or Robins visiting

However there was one day i was particularly upset and feeling overwhelmed I went for a drive then a walk . I ended up walking along a river where the the usual memorial benches are which at this particularly time i didn’t want to read. If anything i was annoyed about , didn’t want to think about death

I did eventually decide to sit on a bench crying still very emotional. For some reason I read the memorial plaque . To my surprise the message said Love you to the moon and back. That threw me totally off guard as the following week I had the same saying tattooed on my arm in memory of my husband. This was our favourite song and a favourite saying to each other.

It may be just a coincidence but there where many benches and i sat on this one. I got comfort from this and do believe it was a sign from him which felt like something he would do . I do feel sometimes the more we search for signs we find nothing but then suddenly something may happen.
Love dose not die with us i strongly believe in that

I actually meant to write i had the tattoo before I sat on the bench the week before. not the following week . That was the sign I believe I got. I already had the saying tattooed on me x

@Lyn03 this is amazing and exactly the kind of stories that keeps the rest of us going. I believe it is a sign from him. What are the chances of you sitting on that bench? Or being in that area? Or even you looking up to read that? And having it on your arm tattood already? Definitely not a coincidence.

I’m the same sometimes when I ask for signs I do get them but then I think am I only seeing this sign because I’m looking for it? Today I asked my mother to show me a man wearing a pink hat if she could hear me (I thought it’s not usual for a man to wear a pink hat) and within two minutes I saw it. I did a similar thing the other day when I asked her to show me a red rose, I went to a random new ice cream shop and they had advertisements of red ice cream carved into a rose shape and this photo is their shop logo (an angel holding a rose shaped ice cream) I mean what are the chances of that. Completely random new ice cream shop, never been there before..

Hello Zara, I’m very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother. I lost my dear wife back in May this year and looking into the possibility of our lives carrying on after the death of the body has also kept me going over the past few months. Both my daughter and I have had a profound dream of her since she passed which gave us great comfort. I’ve also looked into much research on the subject that has convinced me that life does indeed carry on after the death of the body. I have just finished watching the following YouTube video by Jeffrey Mishlove and Emmy Vadnais that I can recommend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDntdWKCGZU

The more I’ve looked into this subject, the more certain I have become that this is not the end.

Take care, Kettie

I’m sorry to hear about your wife. And it’s amazing you’ve both had the dream. How did it feel to you both? I’ve heard of visitation dreams feel completely different to regular dreams. How was it for you?

thanks for the YouTube link, I’ll have a watch of it. If there’s any other things you’ve read that’s helped you with this question please do share. I’m really struggling just now.

my mother was supposed to walk me down the aisle next week to my wedding and I’m absolutely dreading it now. Can’t stop crying

Your mam will be with you by your side all the way. I know it’s not the same . Hope you have something special of hers to keep on you when getting married.
A huge congratulations on your wedding :heart_exclamation:

One thing after looking into proof of afterlife where I possibly can is that people who are passing sometimes see loved ones who have passed on before them, and I noticed that none of them see anyone that is living. Making it possible that it’s definitely not a dream and it’s real. Has anyone been with someone that can see the other side?

I used to go to spiritual churches. They are all over and only a small donation for entry.

There are good and not so good speaker like everything in life, so it’s just using your sense . The genuine spiritualist should be able to give you genuine evidence without asking questions.

I’ve no doubt afterlife exists. I’ve been fortunate to have a few good readings with Amazing evidence However I’ve also had some dodgy ones

I’ve not been to any since my husband died as feeling too vulnerable which is something to be definitely aware of. Your not guaranteed evidence so be prepared and open minded . However when you do a get a good a good reading it can be amazing. Just be careful x

Dear @Zara12 I think what you describe is typical of death bed visions very common in hospices. There’s lot of that in youtube. The ones that I find most encouraging are the ones about children. A very beautiful one, and this is from the daughter of a Methodist pastor, is the story of Daisy Dryden who died 150 yrs ago and in her last days her little death brother would come to her and tell her things about heaven and about people who had died already. You might find it interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ABx17_CATk

Hello Zara,

My dream: I was jaywalking in the middle of a very busy multi-lane road and noticed that my wife was in front of me, but she was on a zebra crossing (crosswalk) that didn’t cross the road, but ran down the middle of the road. I then took her lead and got on to the crossing, which eventually veered off the road and on to the safety of a pavement. When I arrived on the pavement, she turned around and we hugged each other. On awakening from the dream, the first thought that came to me was: ‘she led the way’. Writing this down cannot begin to convey how this simple dream helped me.

I do hope your big day goes well. Try to be as brave as possible; love will get you through!

There is so much material available that strongly indicates that life does indeed carry on after the death of the body. Mainstream science will perhaps try to tell us otherwise, but it’s worth remembering that science is a method of enquiry and not an ideology!

I can recommend looking at almost any video of Dr Peter Fenwick (now deceased):-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78SkTuk8Zd4&list=PLZwmf_5L38HhoceGvXtj7lCMqca4uf8wJ

As for my daughter’s dream (much more detailed than mine), I will ask her if she wouldn’t mind writing it down and I will forward it on this forum.

Take care, Kettie
