Things getting worse rather than better

@Beryl1B Hi! Perhaps she is right, but you can wear them under your clothes, and then the rings will be closer to your heart :pink_heart: Cindy

Hi I’m inclined to agree with you about never getting over a partner’s death. It was George’s first anniversary last Saturday, the 26th September. I was ok on the day but I feel like I’m back in the early months following his death. I just cannot see how I’m going to cope with another terrible year. I had an absolute meltdown this afternoon because I couldn’t access an online pension portal. I’m not good with technology, George would have sorted it for me as he was good with computers etc.

I was quite feisty and in control of my life when he was here, now I’m overwhelmed by everything, a different person. Grief is horrible, it robbs us of our personalities and our past lives. I just wonder what’s the point of it all? Take care.

Dear @Norma1 I feel like that! I was a successful professional woman, now am this wreck that cries over anything, I have done TONS of paperwork but it’s never ending, the stress is so much with solicitors, agents etc sometimes am convinced it’s going to kill me. I hate what I am and what my life is since my husband died. If you find out what’s the point of it all, do let me know because I have no idea. Sending you a big hug

Norma i so agree with all you say.my dear wife was 66 when she passed so suddenly and unexpected, we had been married 36 years so full of love , and hapiness now my life has become this.I still ask WHY and what is the point of it all?I hsave our wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks, last years was so upsetting.I am determined to keep my dear wifes memory alive and last year and on her birthday i make a donation to a charity we support in her memory.I find everything now so difficult, everything seems to be online and like yourself i am not very technically minded and find it so easy to get stressed out and that in turn upsets me.I think a lot of the problem is society and the governments etc dont seem to make things easy for people who are bereaved and grieving.i am so sorry you had a meltdown Norma but i can so understand. My wife was such a calming influence on me, always there to love me and hug me but now we have to things all alone just us.Some people may have friends and family to help along this path we find ourselves on but many of us are completely alone, i fall into that latter category. Our selves and our lives have changed forever but all we can do is our best, i say that to my wife every night.Take care Norma.

i thought that about me too cindy,i was mrs motivator/mega organised,at the helm of a steady ship. i may still be organised…as in overthinking, but motivation poor, and i need somebody to steer my ship now. im a shadow of my former self. maybe all thats required of house selling/buying will reboot the old me,ATM its ā€œlet somebody else deal with itā€ its what i pay the fees for because im overwhelmed . x mandy

Hi Cindy @gemswinc I try to do my job as best as I can, but I am not the person I was before my husband died. I don’t care anymore about things that mattered to me before, I no longer have any professional ambition (or of any kind for that matter), and I honestly can’t see the point of much of anything.

Anita, what you said to Cindy i can so relate too.I say to my dear wife every night i am trying my best with this life i have to endure now, but sometimes my best feels not enough.I know i will never be the person i was and my life has changed forever. Now it feels as if i am in Gods waiting room, waiting to be called home and i so hope be reunited with my dear wife.Things that used to interest me no longer do now, our interests we shared together they were for US.I just seem to drift from day to day, week after week, month after month my only companion now is grief, a companion none of us ever wanted. It feels like an existence now not a life we so loved full of joy and hapiness.Everything seems pointless now and it so often feels like just going through the motions.I so hope things will get better for us even in a small way.Take care Anita.

@manb Hi! Moving house is a big endeavor, let alone when you are in the midst of grief! I am glad you are able to pay folks to take some of the burden, that is what to do. The last thing I wanted to do when my husband died, was to move house, so to me, you are already impressive! You will find yourself fully again, but for now, give yourself peace. You are doing brilliantly :pink_heart: Cindy
