Two weeks of widowhood.

Georgi, any news on your grandson? I was just replacing the candle so was thinking of him. Nigel

Yes once a cheater always a cheater , but what goes around as they say. Doing that to someone and the other partner in crime knowing is just :broken_heart: heart breaking. These kind of people usually get their just desserts when either of them will stray again, as they know what their capable of.

Georgi, I’ve been going to Turkey for about 12 years now and to be honest I’m not a big fan of the food. We went to one in Glasgow and it was ok. I’m limited to what I can eat as I can’t eat chicken or fish. They do lovely casseroles in a clay pot, called Turkish guvec, the restaurant might do that, you can get just meat or a mixture including chicken in it. A Turkish pide which is like a long pizza, they are good. The meze’s are great to start with and the puffy bread is great. I’m sure you will find something and I bet the service is better than most of our restaurants. I’d look up the menu and have a wee look, you might get a nice surprise and it’s a night out and you will get home safely with family going.
It’s different give it a try, the atmosphere will be great.

Silverfox, my ex certainly got his comeuppance, I actually felt sorry for him, she was a horrible person, he thought she was a trophy wife being a lot younger than him, In fact it was just embarrassing, my children didn’t want anything to do with either of them.

My son messaged to say Bonnie Raitt will be performing in Manchester. One of my favourite artists. John Cleary will be supporting her. He is a British born R&B singer and amazing blues pianist. He has lived in New Orleans for over 40 years. Richard would have bought tickets the minute they were released. I feel very sad when I realise he will never have the opportunity to see them. Some things just make me feel so sad. My son would be horrified if he could see me now. I hope everyone is having a better day :two_hearts:

Mbg. I know where you’re coming from here as Mary would have had me searching for several gigs coming up. She particularly had wanted to see Elkie Brooks, which is why I went alone - so I could tell her all about it. I have booked The Who and have Al Stewart already later in the year, again she wanted to see both of those. Could you try for tickets and go with your son? It’s worth a try, in memory of Richard? I’m even looking to try to get to see Bruce Springsteen this year, but it would be on my own. Mary so wanted to go too. But they’re all in Manchester or Liverpool or abroad - nothing in London, so I’ll wait and see. He was born on a very famous day - the day I was also born!

Richard was a huge Springsteen and Eagles fan. We went to many concerts. Springsteen is amazing. I was a a big fan of Clarence Clemons his saxophonist. We always loved music. I have struggled to listen to any now. I must give myself a good talking to. Did you find the leak?? X

Love the Eagles too but we only got to see the Illegal Eagles several times. They are just so good too! We had loads of concerts recently as it had been both Mary’s 75th year in 2023 and mine last year - we did something every month for the whole two years - well nearly. I’m hoping I’ve found the leak. It’s all just drying out tonight and tomorrow I refit the trap - it was a bit out of position so I’m hopeful that was the problem!

Georgi, I’ve almost forced myself to listen to music we loved. It is hard but if I don’t do it now I never will. Status Quo, Ralph McTell, Proclaimers, The Beautiful South. and many more. Mary even got a wink from Francis Rossi in a gig in Paris! She was thrilled!

Mbg, both my husband and I loved our music and gigs. We had already bought the Coldplay tickets, no way could I sell his and see a stranger in his seat. We were already going with my son and wife and one of my other sons is going to go in David’s place. I have since booked tickets to see The Who, ELO and the stranglers. I will either have a son or friend coming with me. I know that it’s going to be so odd going with other people, who don’t know the way we did things. Having to accommodate their wishes. I know I’m going to cry. I’m going to miss him there. He would grab my hand and pull me through the crowds to catch the trains. And when Coldplay play Fix You I will be in pieces. If you can go do. Then when you get home tell him all about it. Making memories without them does not seem right but that is what we are doing now.

Nigel my husbands favourite band was Status Quo. We have seen them so many times. The night we met we were at a social club disco. He asked them to play Quo and when they did everyone sat down. I teased him and said he asked for it so he should dance to it. He did all on his own. My friend who is getting married on my anniversary has asked people for suggestions for music in the evening. I have asked for Caroline, his favourite. I am now having second thoughts. It will most certainly make me cry. Music is the one thing that can make me extremely happy or extremely sad.

So true Debsie, I’ve seen ELO at the O2 in London - brilliant group! Haven’t seen Coldplay or the Stranglers but Madness were fantastic! It’d be funny and great if we bumped into each other at the Royal Albert Hall!

Love ELO and the Stranglers. We loved BB King and blues music. So lucky to see Gary Moore. My first concert at 14 was Santana. I live in a tiny place in South Wales. We were lucky that a local venue would book artists like Curtis Stigers, Paul Carrack from Mike and the Mechanics. I love small gigs. One of my favourites was Hall and Oates. We loved finding new artists to follow, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll etc. We would get excited finding a song, we knew the other would love. The only one we couldn’t agree on was Pink Floyd, he wasn’t a fan. X

Mbg we both loved Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles. He loved Bruce more, I loved the Eagles. We saw Bruce 3 times and The Eagles twice. We are both big fans of The Rolling Stones and The Who too. I have so many memories of the gigs we have been to. And the memories at Glastonbury are so very special. We only got to go twice the second time last year, but we had hoped to go again. Yes the memories in the music gets right to the heart of you.

One of one of my favourite gigs was Roger Waters in Hyde Park. It was mesmerising. So sad I never got to see them together as Pink Floyd, the same with Led Zep, but I did see Robert Plant 3 times. Meatloaf was also up there, we saw him twice.
