Another lovely sunny day. Had a hair appointment so have achieved very little today. Lizzy are you all packed! Nigel just checking you haven’t got yourself wedged in the bathroom.
Motorbike people have been chased again about collecting it. I don’t really mind as part of me just wants to hang onto it. I’ll stick it in the corner and cover it up and in 20 years time it will be one of those barn finds you read about.
Oh that’s such a shame hopefully you will enjoy driving it for him i’m not a very confident driver Chris alwYs drove when we went out but i am getting better at going out of my comfort zone x
Debsie, no I’m good! I was so tired I had a lie in this morning so didn’t start anything until I’d had brunch. I’ve got the last pieces of Lino taken up - more grazed knuckles! Hung the washing out as it was so lovely, sorted GS #1 with his CV - on Mary’s laptop of course, so had to find where it was, dump run, watched a photo and video slideshow on Mary’s laptop and got the last few bits out of the car! The slideshow was nostalgic as some went back 20 years, lots of pictures of Mary and of her speaking when recording videos of the grandchildren! Priceless - and not a single tear! Now just going to do an hour or so weeding before it starts to get chilly. Might go out to eat - it’s only 15 minutes walk and I could then have a drink too! I think they’re open today. Oh and did two more wash loads. Where does it come from? I’ve not got the slightest idea whether to use bio pods or non-bio! I use the first one I put my hand on and with machine being in French a bit of a gamble on the programme settings! Haha! Hope you get the bike sorted soon.
Good idea .you will get used to driving again. I have always drove passed my driving 43 years ago long been driving ever since then the changers i have seen. Xxx
Changed my mind about going out to eat! I got off the chair and could hardly move - aching all over. Then hit my head on a concrete door frame which is 6 inches lower than my height! So sore! So it’s Honey mustard chicken and boiled potatoes whilst watching the Japanese Grand Prix!
Peaches. I hope you managed to sleep last night. I think we were all shocked by the death of your friend’s son, and we’ve all been muted today. You’ll be so affected by this tragedy, we all know that, just let us know you’re coping as best you can? You’re a real carer in every sense of the word and I’m guessing you’re supporting your friend and their family.
Nigel, the family is in lockdown. They are taking no calls, no visitors. Understandable. We (all the friends) believe this is a murder investigation although we have no word on that.
Sadly, I knew this would be the outcome. 43 year old doctors just don’t disappear on their own volition unless they are being investigated for a crime and he was not in such a situation.
Everyone said “don’t say that”, I said “ok”. But, I knew.
I am so sad for my friends.
Nigel, you are a mess! Stop hurting yourself! LOL
I’ve got to do the floor on the middle level and run some dust away every where and I am ready for guests and dinner. Well, as ready as I am going to get. Oh, and wash The Beast.
Isn’t it funny that I think all my friends live in pristine homes where nothing is ever out of place or dusty? As if my house is the only one that gets messed up! SMDH.
It will be okay as I have 4 bottles of Prosecco to start us up and a liquor cabinet that could serve a wedding reception. I find that if your guests have 2 drinks before dinner, everything works out beautifully. Haha!
Peaches thanks for caring as always. Truly I’m ok. I haven’t had a happier day for ages - except worrying about you! I really enjoyed everything I’ve done. Surprisingly!
I’m not surprised the family have shut themselves away. Wouldn’t we all.
I’m sure your dinner party will be a smash hit! Much love xxxx🥰
Nigel, please be careful, it’s hard work taking these floors up. I had to do it before I had men coming to lay new floor. We thought it was just laminate to be lifted but underneath was two layers of tiles stuck solid, i had to get the hammer and chisel out, took me half the night. My husband felt bad as he couldn’t help. At the doir there was wooden flooring that was stuck with tar if all things. They wouldn’t put my floor over it so I had to buy a special made to measure door mat to go over it.
Debsie, I’m at my daughter’s all packed. I had to go and buy a new suitcase as mine was really heavy compared to hers. I’m knackered, I didn’t sleep much last night. I have been quite emotional all day just thinking about the next few days. I took the family out for dinner tonight, had a small glass of wine, hoping I will sleep tonight.
I had to fill a form for the conveyancing lawyer so it’s all going to plan, I’m really doing it.
Peaches I can’t get your friends son out my mind today I find it so sad, I hate to think back to day one again, the pain they must be going through is just horrendous . I hope they get justice for what has happened to him.
Well I’m going to make tea and go to bed, my eyes are closing. If I don’t manage to get on in the next few days don’t be worrying about me. I won’t get into the hotel till about midnight and I will be meeting the lawyer at 11am on the Thursday. I hope everything goes to plan, I bought him a lovely box of chocolates and biscuits from M & S. as a thank you especially for picking me up at the hotel and taking me back. I’m dreading it really but I have to do it.
Take care everyone, I will let you all know how I get on as soon as I can. Xxxx:hugs:
Good luck Lizzy. It feels so long ago that you were trying to decide how to do all this. We have come such a long way since then. I have become so invested in everyone’s journey I feel as anxious as you. It’s the end of this chapter and then onto the next. I’ll be thinking about you. Safe travels.
Thanks Lizzy, yes it’s been a difficult job but the old flooring is now up and just needs a scrape to remove loose bits of glue. Then I can lay the new tiles!
Have a good trip, and I hope everything goes smoothly.
