Morning not sure how i am today
Going out later.the sun is shining again .hope you are ok x
Thank you Nigel it is hard to be back here in this position again, its just bad luck I guess, but his mum & dad will do what is best for him I am sure, its just so sad cause he takes it all in stride doesn’t feel sorry for himself at all, still going to the Muay Thai club and coaches the little kids then does his own training afterwards, he loves it xxx
Peaches good to hear from you, you will enjoy having your visitors, its good to have company especially when its friends you have known a long time xx
Bet your all looking forward to the meal prepared by your very own professional chef, enjoy and don’t forget to tell us all about it xxx
Well there was I going to do the grass - no petrol for the mower! That’s OK I thought, there’s a car load outside. But no, there must be an anti-syphon device in the filler as I can’t even get the hose wet to syphon any out. Now too late to start, so tomorrow will have to do. I’ll go and get some petrol soon otherwise I’ll end up not getting it done before it rains.
I’ve now got the dates or Mary’s cousin’s funeral and that means a trip up to London for the reception of the body on 2 May and then a few days later on 6 May, the burial in Chatham. They will be massive events with all the clergy wearing purple vestments. Definitely a suit and black tie for the other men! It’s unlikely the kids can get time off so I’ll have to go to represent the whole family. They’ll be very difficult days - and I’m not looking forward to them. It’ll be the first time of meeting some of the family since before Mary died, and others the first time since her funeral. I have no choice - I have to go. I guess others will be crying too so I won’t be too different to them! There will be so many people and I struggle with the names of some of Mary’s massive family these days. Not the best, but ‘mate’, or ‘darling’ will have to do!
Thanks Debsie we thought when he went through all he did in 2023 that was it sorted tho a long recovery period and lots of rehab got him to where he is today and now this happens, so sad, but he will face it as he has always done with positivity and a smile, the nurses in America that looked after him, adored him and even contributed to his go fund me page , that was really sweet Xxx
Wishing you all the best with your induction, I hope you enjoy it, yes grief brain is a real thing, I have always had a poor memory so add in old age and grief brain its a nightmare, my neighbour who is a good friend too, she lost her husband in 2017, she is 84 and puts me to shame with her energy levels, always on the go, and Im the one always asking her what day it is lol xxx
Good morning Dave yes a beautiful day here too and I plan on going for a walk today and get some fresh air after lunch, enjoy your afternoon wherever you decide to go xxx
Yes Nigel that will be difficult for you, my friend’s husband passed 2 months after George, his cancer journey was much longer than George, near 2 years so she really helped me with advice and support so no way I could not go to the funeral, it was hard but I coped really well and was determined I would not cry, so only one little tear came during the service and I don’t think anyone noticed xx
It will be hard Nigel but I know you will be ok xxx
Beautiful day going for lunch
Looking forward to it long time since I have been eating out for lunch xxx
Thank for those words Georgi - I hope I can manage it as well as you did!
Hope you enjoyed your lunch Dave going out for a meal this evening with the family it’s my daughter in-laws 50th birthday today x
I have just got back from my induction. Two hours it took and I have various H&S things to read. I now can book a shift but he said to email him with dates I want to do and he will make sure that the other person is experienced enough to work with till I get used to things. There are a lot of dates that no one has volunteered at all and the only dates where one person has volunteered all seem to be a date I can’t do. I will wait and see if some more fill up. I think I will enjoy it. It will be nice to meet new people.
Good for you i found volunteering helped me as you say nice to meet different people and get out of the house xx
Well done Debsie, It sounds like you enjoyed the time today. I’m sure you’ll get some dates that fit your timescales before long and I think it does help to get out and meet new people.
My new volunteering role is nothing as grand as that, just a few evenings a year for the local police Ward Panel. Some actually knew me from FaceBook and knew the wife of one of Mary’s cousins! Small world. I’d better be on my best behaviour on FaceBook in future!
I should get back to litter picking and the Neighbourhood Watch though.
Lunch was very nice xxx nice day out xx
Happy birthday xx
Well that is it for the petrol mower. I was going to use it till I had used all the petrol in the can up but its now conked out. Maybe the petrol had got stale I have no idea but what I do know is I won’t be able to fix it. Battery mower from now on. At least the sun has come out this afternoon. I may have got a bit carried away with some pruning, oops.
Yes the sun is shining get a bit of the grass sorted .
Xx
Morning everyone!
All is well. My guests are unconcerned about dog hair and I hope they slept well. They are off to somewhere already this am. Early birds. LOL They have been to NOLA many times, so the only thing I could think for them to do is to visit the National WWII museum here. Hope they went there. Gone before I woke.
Debsie - the mower motor is probably clogged with trash from the bottom of the fuel container. I don’t know but gas mowers require a mix of fuel and oil - right? Use the electric one. Much quieter.
It is a beautiful, sunny day. The Beast is lying in the sunshine on the balcony. Funny boy. Gees, I love this dog.
Gotta call the CPA, tax day in the 15th. Gives me a tightness in my chest. The Internal Revenue Service is horrid. My friends were fined $100,000.00 for being a DAY late filing the parent’s estate tax.
Love to all.
Most of the mowers over here are 4 stroke motors and just have petrol (gas) Peaches. No oil is added to the petrol except for things like 2 stroke brush cutters and the like.
Still a very day here, had a nice lunch ,chilling now .relaxing xxxx
