Two weeks of widowhood.

Thank you Debsie, I told the Estate Agent to try and give me a low valuation as my lawyer wanted to know what the house is worth but I hope he goes back up depending what the Home Report values it.

You have reminded me to go and trying scoop up some chips to cover a clump of weeds that I can’t lift up.

I need some food, I really need to go to Tesco.
I’d rather be in Dunelm lol. That’s where I got my curtains and duvet covers from.
They have some lovely ones.
I meant to say to you that my poles came with a tiny Allen key which loosens the end piece and you can get the curtains off easily. I kept that key on window ledge because I would never have found it otherwise.

I hope Daisy gets on ok at the doctors, my wee Daisy had to get an antibiotic as she couldn’t lift her cough and it was making her sick. She goes to nursery a few days a week, probably loads of germs flying about.
Have a nice day xxxx

At least he got one Dave, getting an appointment at mine is nightmare, the receptionists are not allowed to make an appointment it has to be a doctor so they’re taking a doctor away to do phone consults every day to decide if you need seen or not, when he or she could be seeing patients during that time he/she’s phoning everyone !!!
Just madness if you ask me !

Thanks Glo,
I’m glad thats it done now. I just need a flat to come on the market now.
I forgot I had a leather dining chair that’s been in my car for weeks now, took it to our friendly tip😳 . It was empty, not a soul in it. I wish I’d emptied the rest of the log shed. We have to book an appointment as of tomorrow. You will never get the men out the hut now as they will have to check our car reg no. And we have 10 minutes to unload our stuff. I think that’s a waste. Does that mean if I only take 2 minutes, it will be empty till the next one comes in.
I also went to Tesco, bad idea as the ready meals went in and a few big Easter eggs that were reduced, I did buy some flowers as well as I think my house will be on this week.

Well, that’s one tax return done, and the accounts are now done for the Partnership. It’s only taken 4 hours. I still have returns to do for the Partnership and for me and Mary - and the Partnership and Mary’s are manual rather than online. Yuk! Soon it’ll be time for school pick up as GD comes out at 2.30 on a Monday, and GS at 3.15. Not much chance of 5 things today. Mind you I guess the tax returns and the accounts would make 5 on their own!

I hope you’re all having a good day - it looked like it from what I saw so far, but Debsie - another migraine? You’ll have to slow down a bit. xxxx

Purple sofa’s. I changed the curtains and found some nice cushion covers. On the package the colour is champagne. I quite like them in the bedroom. All period colours. I am looking through my paint collection. Xx

I can hardly believe it myself, but I have nothing but a short dental appointment until May 27. Nothing on the calendar for a month! Yay!

In fact, the rest of the year is open. How can this be? Feel so relieved.

My guest left before I woke as she said she would. Early bird. She never stops moving. Where does that come from? How do I catch it?

She will return on Saturday for one night. The drive from her home to mine is 7 hours, then another 7 to her daughter’s place in Houston, so this is a good stopping point for a rest and recovery. These 2 are very close, they talk and text all day.

It was nice having a little company and she helped me take down a huge, heavy mirror that was hanging over my bed and I wanted it down. Grab help when you can, right?

This weekend was the first of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. It is a huge fest with hundreds of bands on dozens of stages for 3 days/nights of music over 2 weekends. Thousands upon thousands come from all over the world. It is held at the Fairgrounds (in the center of the track) as the horses aren’t running this time of year.

I do not go as it is always too hot and too crowded for me. Yesterday, it poured rain sideways for a couple of hours. I can imagine all the wet people in the deluge with no place to get out of the storm and the bands scurrying to protect their equipment. Then, the slop.

Yard duty today. I hope I get something pretty done.

Digger, please show us photos of the cleared up garden. We want to see what your cleaner accomplished.

Sunny and hot. Here comes our blasted summer. Soon, it will be in the high 90’sF and a few 100+ days. Misery I tell you, misery.

I love my blank calendar.

First cup of coffee went down nicely. Here’s to a second! I’ll be ready to rumble after the third.

Love to all.

I love the purple sofas. Are they velvet too? Yummy! The official Mardi Gras colors are purple, green and gold. The complimentary colors are greens and oranges, so the color on the LR wall is already perfect. You’ve a good eye for color!

It is your home, you get to have any color you want.

Love the new draperies!

I love green. Nearly everything I choose is green. I am trying for different colours. I have quite a lot of William Morris wallpapers. The sofa’s are velvet flock sort of material. I will get there xx

Maria, I love your curtains and cushions, can I buy a room and move in? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Peaches, Isn’t it strange having a clear diary, mine was always full with hospital appointments for both of us, I only have a Covid jab in May, nothing else. I used to look every day at mine as there was always something in it. I’m hoping I will have to go out as I will get some viewers maybe next week. Fingers crossed. Send some of that heat to me please, my sun has gone.

Nigel again another well done getting the tax return done, that’s a big achievement, after I came back from Tesco I went to bed for a sleep, my phone woke me up or I would be still sleeping.

Well done Nigel on the tax returns. They are always a pain. I just saw that I got an extra interest payment in February that I wasn’t expecting. I missed it off the tax return but I have managed to edit and resubmit it. It makes no difference to the the amount owed anyway.

Peaches I hope you enjoy your peace and don’t get bored. No doubt something will come along to add to your calendar.

I have dropped off my car and sorted out a little more in the garden. Feeling anxious today, not altogether sure why. Maybe because all I have been doing is Davids jobs and it doesn’t feel right and I am not comfortable doing them. I have been doing a little accounts work too, having to learn a new system for my son and not liking that either atm. I’m too old to learn new things.

GD was seen by the doctor this morning and she has a throat infection. Poor love. She has been given antibiotics. No wonder she has been off her food. I will be so much easier when she can tell you what is wrong. All this time blaming the injections.

Well I have had enough now. I have nothing out of the freezer for dinner so I have decided to have egg and chips. One of my favourite dinners. Lots of brown sauce. And when I walked back from the garage I found myself in Lidls and a Millionaire Shortbread fell into my shopping basket. I will have that for pudding. :yum:

Debsie, I’m just doing my 2024-2025 one now and of course joint account interest isn’t just half this tax year! Luckily I had a previously set up spreadsheet to do all the calculations for me but I still had to work out how it was split. 8 months split in half and 4 months just mine. So the tax certificate didn’t work as the interest changed every month! We’ll get there!
