Best ways to cope with loss of mother

Hello Any, hope you are feeling better.

Thanks so much for your very kind advise, not decided what I am going to get yet but first I must finish work on the house,it resembles a building site and not currently safe for any animal.

Do make sure your dog does not endanger your daughter or you, if it bites either Amy IT MUST GO, I am a little concerned when you say it doesn’t trust you.

PS, sent you private message,

Stay safe.

Hi Laura, sorry I just assume everyone knows the sort of healing terminology. The solar plexus is an energy centre of which we have seven in the body. It is located just under your ribs on your tummy. It relates to personal power and is where we “feel” things, saying we have a “gut feeling” about things. Zoe xx

Hi Tim,

I had a bad night on Monday so I had a rest day and caught up on my sleep. I think I have more or less stopped worrying about the smoke alarm. They changed the battery and I had to have another alarm as well as it was faulty. You are right these things are life’s curveballs.

I hadn’t thought of writing about Dad’s beginnings and he would be very proud to know that his story is out there in the world. I’ll give that some thought. I’ll have to do some research.

Very interesting that you were adopted with your twin brother. I think they were a bit slap dash with security of documents back then. It may have been the officials didn’t want the enemy to get their hands on any confidential records.

I will have a look at the book by John Crawford. I’ll take any help offered. I am seeing the doctor on Friday morning to see if she will give me some sertraline. I have been taking an extra tablet of the St. John’s Wort as you van take 2 a day. I take one in the morning with my breakfast and the extra one either at lunch time or last night when I went to bed. I did have a better sleep.

Churchill was into all the arts, he was a talented artist and art is healing. He wrote three volumes of his family’s history as well as other things. Hitler or Schicklgruber as he was born, was rejected by the German art fraternity.

Maybe one day scientists will investigate how dementia affects the brain. We have two ladies here in the flats both with varying degrees of dementia. One is quite badly affected and can’t handle simple tasks. The other has loss of memory, she’s about to say something and that thought just disappears. She is a lovely friendly lady and if you have a conversation with her you have to do the talking. But I used to do that with Dad. Some of the others here find that difficult and possibly a little frightening. I am always willing to be patient and give people time to say what they want to say.

Thank you for always replying to my posts. I do enjoy talking to people on this forum.

Blessings

Hi Zoe.

You always have some interesting points and I did not know till know about Hitler’s other name, clearly he was no artist and probably fancied himself as an artist but unlike Churchill, no talent and to arrogant to admit it.

Hindenburg did not want him to be chancellor of Germany, he was no fool and knew he would cause trouble and tried but sadly failed to prevent Hitler from obtaining the chanceller ship, the tragedy is there were so many occasions when Hitler was almost stopped but were missed and he spent a year in prison for treason as you know during which time he wrote inecamp(my house in German, but my spelling is wrong!!!) nine!!) I think he was the devils angel.

Scientist are investigating dementia, or a least the causes of it, it always starts with one of two causes, an infection or trauma.

In the case of infection it is when infection crosses over from the blood brain barrier into the brain causing inflammation and water infections are particularly good at this. this causes disruption of blood vessels in the brain compromising blood supply causing oxygen starvation in the brain leading to cell death, and if this goes on far enough a point is reached were it will not stop because more of the brain dies and it is insipient rather like inside rust in a car.

The other is trauma, either internal or external causing inflammation and has the same effect on blood vessels in the brain, can be caused by heading a ball for long periods, an impact to the head, or a tia in the brain(mini stroke) there are basically 2 types of stroke, bleed and blocage, and when treating someone for a stroke it has to be determined what type, some 85% are blocked blood vessels in the brain, the other 15% being bleeds. both cause inflammation, oxygen starvation and cell death, the gold standard test is an MRI scan, but a portable system that can be used in the field by paramedics is being developed by scientist at Cambridge university, the data is sent electronically to a specialist who can look at it with the help of AI technology, and he/she tells the paramedics how to treat the patient, who in most cases will not have to go to hospital saving stress, time, money and lives, a win-win situation.

As we age the blood thickens, this directly raises the prospect of blocked blood vassals in the brain causing cell death/dementia, it also tends to cause hypertension(together with a build up of deposits in the veins and arteries, this is particularly so for the inactive) hypertension is just the clinical word us scientist use for high blood pressure and is nothing special as you probably know, ok, hear endeth the science lecture for today.

You might need access to records to find out more about your dad and a good source will,be the records at Windsor Castle, you will need to obtain permission from the king himself to have the information accessed and only a highly trusted Historian like Lucy Worsley or her staff, will actually be allowed to access them for you, no one is allowed to remove or photocopy anything in there so you will have to tell her just what information you are looking for, she was the royal curator so she will certainly be able to obtain the information if you get permission, but you will probably have to pay her, not quite sure how to contact her, but if you address a letter to her via the V&A museum or to Windsor castle I am sure it will find her, she is very well known and I suggest she should be your first point of contact, she will certainly have people under her who can point you in the right direction.
Glad your smoke alarm fixed.

Blessings to you Zoe.

Good luck and KBO

Goodness it never ends with me, my phone that’s just come out of contract has decided to stop working ffs! This year has been awful for me and I have messages from my Mum on there, I really hope there’s a way to get access to them so I can send them to my spare phone.

Also had a stressful day at work, just been behind all day and so rushed off my feet, I’m absolutely done in! This morning I dropped the mop bucket all over me and was soaking wet :sob:

I just want some peace in my life and I ain’t getting it, got to keep trying though cause it’s what my mum would have wanted!

Jess, just a moment, would your mum want you struggling on the way you are know?,what do you think she is thinking and what is she telling you from the other side?.

What does Jess want?, think very carefully before you answer this, go and relax with your fur balls and quietly think about it, I am sure your mum would be happy with what you want, the spirits do not judge us according to Lisa Williams.

From what you say they are short staffed ware you work, no wonder they wanted you back, looks like THEY CANT GET THE STAFF THESE DAYS!!!, my impression is they expect you to do the work of 2 people and that is not fair on you.

Any more news about the admin job?.

Hope things work out with your phone, did you store them on the phone or the sim, if the sim then provided its not gone you should be ok.

Take care.

PS, Anyone heard from Amy?, she said something about feeling very ill and they are all down with it, she has a 2 year old child.

Hi Laura, how is life treating you?.,hope all ok including Meg

Hello Tim , I am ok . I have been to a coffee morning at church with my Mum this morning which was nice . There were some ladies who have recently lost their husbands so I think it will help her a lot .
I have also been to an allotment meeting tonight and now own (well rent ) half my Dads plot with my Mum which now means I can join the allotment committee which my Dad was on .
I think it will be good for me to get a hobby . I really only read and go out on my bike as hobbies .
The allotment people are friends of my Dad so it brings me comfort . I just hope i manage to grow plenty !
Meg is good - she spends most of her time keeping as warm as possible .
Anymore thoughts on what fur ball you will get ? Cat /dog /both ?!
How are you ? I’m sure Amy is ok . I think she comes on every couple of days …
hope she is well xx

Hello Laura and nice to hear from you.

CONGRAGULATIONS!!

What you are doing is very sensible and very good for your mum and you and by maintaining those links between your father and the allotment community you are well on the road to rebuilding your life.

Lets hope you develop green fingers, and everything you touch blossoms and blooms

Get christmas out of the way it will soon be spring, and thanks to global warming there is always something growing in the garden all year round, only at a slower pace.

Your father is no doubt proud of what you have accomplished since he passed as he walks with you as a spirit everyday.

Blessings to you, your mum, Meg, and the allotment community who are becoming your salvation, your reward for courage, persistence and good faith, in a very difficult time.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the information about dementia and it’s causes. Because I had several people in my life with it, I guess I didn’t want to dig too deep into the causes or how it could play out. Classic case of avoidance!

I got the book you recommended on Audible as I had loads of credits to use. I listen to a bit of it yesterday and it was very interesting. Especially the symptoms of anxiety, such as excessive sweating, wanting to go for a pee more often. I like his approach of helping us to understand what is happening and why. I think I will be able to use the information in the book to help me and maybe help to cure my fear of dentists!!! Or maybe that is too much of a stretch.

They say that Hitler was half Jewish and he was born “on the wrong side of the bed”. It was all denied at the time but it was common knowledge among his enemies. Even more horrific if that is true that he sanctioned the destruction of his own people. Although a lot of the Jewish high society at the time had money, were successful and stuck together.

I watched a film yesterday on iPlayer called “Death Of Stalin”. It was a black comedy written by Armando Ianucci. Michael Palin was in it playing one of the Russian members of the Russian government. Jeffrey Tambor was in it and another American actor and Paul Whitehouse. It was violent, silly and showed as soon as Stalin died, recovered and died again, they were only interested in getting promoted and saving their own skins. One of the actors from “The Thick Of It” was in it as well.

I could try and get in touch with Lucy Worsley via her publishers and you’re right she would charge a fee I’m sure. Might be worth me contacting Phillipa Langley as she managed to get loads of information from all sorts of archives for The Princes In The Tower Project.

It’s going cold here again and I have to go out and brave what is “car parking Chess” in our car park at the moment. Scaffolders are winning so far.

Have a good day.

Blessings to you.

Hi Zoe.

One of the things now being used as a treatment for both dementia and alzheimer’s is Ponygranast juice.

Pomegranate is a superfruit, and has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years in the east, and it is only know that the west is tacking a look at it.
I put my mum on it together with aloe vera juice during the last 6 months of her life and she did actually improve!

We do not yet know how it works, but appears to flush toxins out of the system and improve blood circulation by dilating blood vessels and frankly I need to get on it.

Glad you are finding the book helpful, keep going with that, it will not fix your fear of dentist, but to quote the chinese proverb, every journey begins with a single step.

So Hitler was a half jew?, you teach me something every day, the only way this would have been supressed in germany is the blunt tool of fear and retribution, had a few brave people stood up to him in the early days the second world war would have been prevented and the world would be a more prosperous and peaceful place, appeasement never works, if you want piece prepare for war, I believe in the deterrent, it is always better to deter war then to have to fight one.

I know Gerebals had a jewish grand mother and is buried in a jewish cemetery, he was terrified his jewishness would be uncovered and he would be executed(not all jews are circumcised as you probably know)

The irony of Stalin is he actually killed more people then Hitler, he also considered Churchill the bit of am imbecile, during one meeting with Churchill in Russia, news reached Churchill of the death of a friend and Churchill wept, Stalin commented

“The death of one man is always tragic, the death of 50,000 a mere statistic”
how cold is that?.

Phillipa Langley might actually be a better speck because she is used to finding information out and I am not sure Lucy is, more a presenter then a historical detective, but you may still need the kings permission, the kings personal secretary would probably be a good contact who can ask the king on your behalf.

Sounds like work is going on the exterior of the flats were you live, related to the cladding or roof no doubt.

S&P 500 has risen 1.37% this morning and that holds good for the economy,

Still working on my snug in the back of the lounge, considering replacing my water central heating system with a hot air system system (blows hot air through the radiators instead of water so no need to worry about freezing pipes in winter)

Have as good day.

Hi Tim
Knock
Still here just very busy this week with run up to my daughters birthday and not been feeling well either. Hope you’re okay. Will get on more soon. How are you feeling just now with Christmas approaching
Amy xxx

Hi Amy and how are you?, sounds like you are on the mend at last.

Went to a carol service today in Cartmel priory(made famous by one of King Johns nights who was from hear who persuaded him over Magna Carta, around hear is steeped in history.

Enjoy your daughters birthday Amy, cherish the moments and cherish the memories, while grief makes conflicting demands on us, life demands that we live, and while non of us can truly say how we will feel on christmas day, we must make of it what we will, remember, your mum walks with you in spirit every day, and she still loves you just as much as she did before she passed, chances are this is the first christmas your daughter will remember, try to be happy for her sake.

How is your father and boyfriend?, are they down with this bug to?, it seems to be going the rounds, Laura and family have been laid low with it and in bed like you and some say it is related to Covid.

On Christmas day going down with sis in law to Ormskirk to spend day with Niece, first Christmas without mother for all of us on this site and non of us are looking forward to it, Niece is doing us Christmas dinner, coming back at night, that will be my christmas and I will be alone for the rest of the time but will talk to people on the phone. not looking forward to it, but a few years ago we all did it because of covid (accept Boris and his cronies in No10) I am usually conservative but i WILL NOT VOTE FOR A LIAR, against all I stand for and believe in.

Blessings to all.
