Grief is so exhausting

I’m actually coming to terms with my loss my bereavement counselling helped me navigate that in my head, I have good and bad days but yeah the firsts were hard but we got through them as a family we just made sure we were busy on them days doing something I’m just trying to organise Christmas them it’s time to start packing my mum’s clothes and stuff away I think I’m ready to do that x

Yeah it was she died 22 October 23, 3 days after my daughter’s 12 birthday so it was tough, we got through Christmas, birthdays, then mums birthday and then her 1st anniversary so just one more the day we laid her to rest x

My mum passed away at end of July also, it’s the most wrenching feeling that seems to sneak up just from smells visitors or even tv … I get 2hrs a night if I’m lucky I wish there was a way of getting more so day naps went needed

I am so sorry @Beansjelly , still early days for you. Just go with how you feel, don’t put any expectations on yourself.

Bereavement counselling is good, can help you to process but when you are ready.

Sending hugs

So sorry for your loss,i’m having bereavement counselling,it does really help, you can let the tears go,they listen and offer ways to deal with what you are feeling.
Sending you a big hug.

I miss my Kim so much. I was walking round the supermarket today and just wanted to cry.

We’re getting ready for Christmas with buying presets etc and it will be my second Christmas without her. We’d be planning and making stuff now. My heart just aches for her.

I was talking to my husband about his mother and her said we would be ring her ashes next year. I just said I want it to be over. He didn’t get it. He doesn’t get that all these things make me relive the trauma of my mom dying. The timing of my MIL dying was just horrendous. 2 days after the anniversary of my mom’s death.

Sorry to hear of your loss, take each day as it comes. I am just into second year after losing mom. I still have my moments and there is a big void in my life without her. Sending hugs

Very rarely I go shopping, too much of an upset as I did this with mom every Friday and sometimes weekends. I poped to supermarket this morning and there was a daughter attaching her moms wheelchair to trolley, upset me as this is what I did last couple of years with mom. When I see daughters and sons out with their elderly parents it upsets me, wish i could still do this :sleepy:

I can go with family shopping but it’s the same memories as we used to go all together…

We always had latte and toast before shopping or after. Haven’t been there since mom passed.

@Bestie18 i have no idea how I’ll get through christmas this year without either of my parents, can’t imagine how your feeling. Did you have counselling? I’m in 2 minds about it I’ve never been a great speaker

I’m having counselling, been having it a while,it does help, you aren’t judged,if you want to cry you can,if you want to talk about anything you can, they listen and find reasons for the way you feel that you hadn’t even thought of,give it a go, if it’s not for you you can just say so.

At 4pm a year ago today Mum left behind her suffering and went to join my Dad for a long awaited reunion. Although my heart is breaking today I’m trying to think of it as her “rebirth-day”.

Thank you Mum for all the moments and memories we shared, all the ways you showed your love and care. The hugs, the shopping trips, preparing Sunday dinner together, the daily chats that always ended with “i love you”. Despite everything you had to deal with you always had time to listen to others, and you always considered you were fortunate. You have left a hole in my heart and soul that will only be filled when we meet again.

Hi Larkygirl

I did have counselling last year with cruise, it does help. Only allowed six sessions though.I find I cannot say how I feel to my partner, don’t think he gets it. There is counselling option with Sue Ryder too. Let me know how you get on, sending hugs
