Hobbies and Interests

Dear Catherine

I know I’ve suggested it before but what about genealogy. You could start with looking at family you know of at the library, ancestry is free to access there. Ours also do a short course a couple of times a year. If it gets you hooked you could then join at home x

Used my new Air Fryer to cook Lasagne tonight. Only a Charlie Bigham one but after resorting to reading the manual, I mastered it.

I did the vegetables in a saucepan

You know they use more electric than your cooker!! So I have heard but guess quicker.

Well done though!

Not true Air Fryers use less power than ovens. They are usually quicker as well

It was quite tasty. I overdid on the vegetables though.

From the manual, it appears you can cook some vegetables in this air fryer, but I’ll stick to the saucepan for now. Don’t want to get too adventurous

My hobby and interest today is sorting out more of Jackie’s jewellery. I want to give it to my children and grandchildren now, rather than wait for me to pop off.

After that, I’ll finish off wrapping some Christmas presents for the grandchildren. I know it’s early, but at least it’s one less thing to do.

I have to stay in anyway as expecting a couple of deliveries.

Just about finished Jackie’s jewellery. Second oldest granddaughter is visiting on Friday, so I’ll give her stuff for her mum and older sister.

A little part in what I assumed was called the detergent drawer was breaking, so I ordered a part called detergent drawer from eSpares.

This is the bit.

Which is in what I call the detergent drawer

This turned up earlier.

It’s the outer part of the detergent drawer and obviously fixed to the machine with the pipes etc. Part was only £16, so will keep it and endeavour to get the right bit

You’ve had a busy day John. It must be a day for washing machine problems, I’ve put ours in here and now the door refuses to open. My own fault as it was slightly out of line (looked like someone had forced it open) so I lifted it to shut it. Oh well only jeans and pyjamas, won’t ruin.

Wrapping Christmas gifts, you are good. I hope sorting Jackies jewellery is done now, that can’t be easy x

Yes quite busy and I had to put the bins out

Yes it was hard doing Jackie’s jewellery. My son tried to convince me to leave it. As executor of my will, he would do it when I went, but I think I was best placed to honour what Jackie would have wanted.

Anyway it’s done now

These things are only precious to us John, it’s the memories that surround them really and we’ll always have them. I’m going to do the same with mine when I settled. The only thing I need now is the locket with Stephens curl in and of course my wedding ring x

I know. I like to think at least my son and daughter would keep what they get, but it’s up to them now.

My ‘jewellery’ is my guitars. I have 12, which is handy as I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren, so they get 2 each
