Hi Helen that looks like a lovely place to spend a morning. I just got back from a walk and as I was coming out of a field a hare ran across my path and then a baby muntjac deer ran out in front of me of course by the time I think about taking a picture it is all quiet again. All the best Tom
Hi Catherine
Glad your gym session went well. It is good to have people around us who we can chat to .
Milo was good taking his tablets this morning as I had hid them in some chicken
I hope you enjoy your swim tomorrow.
Hope the rest of the afternoon goes well for you .
I thought Christmas and New year was bad as I was in my early stages of grief.
I am finding summer just as bad, every one talking about there holidays. Going on holiday is just a reminder of what I’ve lost .
Our families are even more important to us now, I understand your apprehension. My daughter has been my rock for the past year and I’m going to miss her and the grandchildren terribly. They are off on an adventure, backpacks on and a house half way up a mountain with no road.
Sherbet if at any time you want to chat I’ll be free, you have us all here but you can pm anytime.
Hi,I’ve been reading the chat here on and off for a while. You seem to have found support, so that’s good. I can relate to a lot of the comments, in particular the Lonliness. I have no one, and now live alone. Doing my best, this is year 3 for me, but I discount the first 18 months as I was very unwell and numb. Having a bad week currently, not seen anyone for days, only spoke to a cashier when I had to go out for some snack food I can pick at. It is the hardest thing I’ve done, losing my husband. I miss him, and life is hard now. I’m in my early 60 s and luckily reasonably healthy physically but I struggle to find a life now despite trying and taking advice. I volunteer, but it’s not great. I go for walks with company but not great. I spend hours alone at home, I have to push myself to do simple tasks. I’ve spoken with drs. I just wish none of it had happened. You all seem to be managing okish, so that’s good.
When I’m settled in the bungalow and my op is out of the way we will arrange that walk. I’m going to be brave and book a train or a coach or a plane and travel. I’ve never been anywhere on my own but now I have no choice. Soon x
Dear Katherine what you describe seems pretty accurate. It’s a matter of trying to stay positive, push forward and keeping as active as possible. There is always a feeling that if you stop for too long a rest you will be enveloped in sadness and despair.
I’m all alone when I’m not at work. So called friends had enough of a grieving person who needed help, family and a little bit of their selfish time. I still have a couple of older friends on the phone, meeting them from time to time when I need help and two best friends of mine in my country have been in my life for decades in good and bad times too. I’ve been in this for 16 months and the loneliness and anxiety every morning is the worst ever. I fight for my existence literally. Hugs from Janka
Hi Katherine @Katherine20 I am also alone, and find the community here very helpful. Also, volunteering as you do is helpful, getting out. I am 77 and have just enough energy to maintain house and garden, I volunteered a lot when I first retired, until my husband got sick.
My husband died 9 years ago, and I have lived alone since then. For much of that time though I had a boyfriend in TN who called every day at 1 and 8. Those phone calls and our visits were my lifeline. He died a little over two months ago. So now its just me, regrets from my marriage, grief over this loss, and loneliness.
I find gardening and household tasks keep me sane. I hope you can find motivation in simple tasks, if it’s been three years, you’ve been keeping house and soul together, Good for you!
We all wish none of it had happened but we can’t go back. Stop by here and we’ll go forward together Cindy
Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing ok, as for me im not sure, its hard for me getting up in the morning..i notice my face keeps breaking out, every day there’s something new on my face, I wonder if the stress is causing it..i have no energy this morning..im barely gonna have some coffee..take care everyone
Hi Sherbet, i see both you and Helen’s family are going on vacation, Sabrina and her husband will be going to las Vegas in a few weeks leaving me with my grandkids…
Anxiety, sadness and despair for sure… keeping myself busy helps, but I also need to stop, take a break and relax, because I work hard and working very hard in my garden too would cost me a back pain and I’d be miserable again. So I try to be in peace, even though it’s not possible much because of the tears flowing or the neighbors making a noise and not taking care about me at all. After calling Police yesterday, they stopped playing the noisy metal music over my fence, so at least something. Janka
