Yes l know what your going through and it’s terrible no one knows what it’s like l was feeling a bit better last week but yesterday and today lv been terrible

So sorry for you loss losses my husband October and my life will never be the same and l keep saying that l don’t want to be here without him but have grown up children and grandchildren so going on for them

Thank you for replying. I think our relationship kept a spark because we lived separately. We always looked forward to seeing each other. I loved how he came out to welcome me when I arrived, even though we saw each other every day. I am going to say my farewells to him in the chapel of rest tomorrow. We will inter some of his ashes on Wednesday. It is going to be so hard to do. Because of Christmas, we arr waiting till January to have his celebration of life. It’s such a bleak time.

I will be thinking of you when you go to see him in the chapel of rest.
It was extremely difficult and traumatic for me due to him looking nothing like my John at all so I hope it goes well for you.

How sad for you. I’ve asked for the coffin to be closed as I was warned he might not look like he did when alive. I don’t want that and he wouldn’t have wanted it either. I’m still dreading it but feel I want to be with him before his cremation.

I might pop out but it is a bit difficult to find quieter places for a mug of tea.

Absolutely you have to go and be with him. It’s a need we have to say our last goodbye.
Like I say I really hope it goes well for you.
My dad looked exactly the same when I saw him but I asked for my mum who had struggled for a few months to be a closed coffin.
As John was an unexpected death and he hadn’t suffered illness I really expected him to look the same but it was a massive shock and I have never fainted in my life but was so close to doing that.
The fact I wasn’t warned he was just at the side of the door was another factor as well. It wasn’t organised or explained well at all by the funeral directors
When I showed them a photo which I’d taken just a month before of him they couldn’t believe it either so goodness knows what they’d done and at the time I was in no fit state to ask them. I just advised his son n beloved niece not to go it was that shocking..
I just keep remembering how he looked the morning he passed, happy, contented and looking forward to us going out for the day.

How horrible for you. I found it ok with the closed coffin. It’s a nice little room, but I could hear other people the other side of the wall and door. They gave me a cup of coffee and I sat and talked with him and did a crossword, as that’s what we did every day over a coffee. I took him some flowers from his garden. I’m going for a short, last time tomorrow, the last time before his cremation.

Back home after viewing properties in Wales with a friend from here.
Had a second viewing of one we both really liked, I put an offer in. Initial offer was rejected but they accepted the second offer, so now it begins

Good morning, I haven’t posted for a while but have been reading. I have had a bit of a rough time with pneumonia and a slight stroke both of which I and recovered from. John I am delighted you have found your new home near to Jackie, I hope the move goes well.
