My appetite changed after my husband died . I was really struggling to eat . I have lost a of weight. I dropped 2 sizes in clothes and had to buy new clothes. I called it the bereavement diet . My appetite has returned I don’t eat as much as I used to . Your fish and chips and cream cake sound delicious.

I used enjoy myself going to the Meccas in Blackpool and Blackburn. There used to be a free bus from Preston.

I lost a stone in the first month after losing Rachel, still need to lose more. I’ve always been big but when my back went and I couldn’t work I put on 4stone in just a few weeks, as it took a while for my appetite to adjust from my active job as a milkman, to struggling to walk across a room. I peaked at just over 22stone, I think I’m 17 now and it’s steadily going down, I’ve continued with the 5:2 diet we were doing before I lost Rachel.

I lost almost 2 sto e whwn Ray went into hospital and we heard the awful diagnosis. I just couldn’t eat at all. He, was worried about me, and asked me to take photos of my dinner and send them to him before he went to sleep (or try to sleep). I did it but often ended up just picking at it.

Appetite has come back slightly but it’s not the same at all. We were big foodies and loved to cook at home. Curries were our big thing, all made from scratch. I even made samosas too, the mess in the kitchen was crazy and he used to run out the door.

Oh for those days back, what I wouldn’t give for it

I might sound organised but believe me I’ve driven our local carpet guy crazy…
Must admit it’s so easy to just take off n leave it all behind because its an absolute tip and is driving me insane..
My sons static is vacant during the week so like he says might as well use it..
It’s been very hot on the decking with the gauge reading 82 but it’s a sun trap.
Some people are still sat eating on the lawns in the late sunshine.
Do you think it could be the start of a lovely summer.?

There’s two restaurants in my neck of the woods that have started having Northern Soul nights, Motown nights and look alike singers.

Me n my couz off to watch ‘Rod Stewart’ on the 8th, £35 for a meal, the act and late night disco.
The last one I went to a few weeks back was ‘Neil Diamond ‘ and it was a brilliant night.

It was like the old days dancing round yer handbag..

Hello Squidge,

I hope you have had a bearable day?another groundhog type day for me which seems so many of us have.It really is a rollercoaster we find ourselves on so many twists and turns so many ups and downs, more downs than ups it seems.I still cry literally every day, some days more heavily than others.Nightime and bedtime i find the worst.I feel so worn out holding down a very relentless physical job, then back to the sad, lonely empty house where once it was full of joy and hapiness and love.Grief really does wear us down it can feel so disorienting too.Physically, mentally and emotionally i feel worn out but all we can do is our best.Look after yourself.
