Loss of our son aged 27

So did you all think sam was better or did you know

Dear Zoe and friends,
Just read all your moving messages and love to see the photos of your precious children :pray: its like we are all one big family, Zoe I do the same I buy my daughters presents from Matt and his girlfriend and write them cards :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: they are still very much involved in all that we do, Chris I feel the same it means so much when others remember our children  it’s all we can do now, honour their memory, we are having a bench made in memory of Matt and it will be placed at his primary school also a picture board with photos from school and a write up about his journey from leaving school, this has helped me so much and kept my mind busy leading upto his 3rd anniversary, I will share it with you all once its in place.
Sending you all my love dear friends

I remember when Alan and I were on Honeymoon in Skye. We visited Dunvegan Castle and I saw a writing near the bridge there which read ’ our hearts are filled with tears but our memories remain for eternity’ I had this put on our parents headstone. It sums it up really, doesn’t it?

Love to you all dearest of friends.

Michelle, Alan had a stone engraved to put by the Highland Dancing stage in the village here. It says Lisa Jayne Derbyshire dance here from 1993 to 2002.
The community Council won’t let us put it there but Alan had placed in in the cemetery where her real stone will he placed.
It’s coming from a Highland estate where both our kids spent so much of their childhood. Riding on quadbikes, argocats, delivering lambs, feeding deer and tending to wild boar piglets. They had an amazing time.
The stone will be split, polished and engraved.
I am still not sure I will be able to go but we will be laid there too when it’d our time. There isn’t any of Lisa there actually as Jamie has her ashes. No matter, this is where she grew up and made her what she was.
It’s so hard though isn’t it?xxxx

Dear All, I have been thinking recently that I don’t want Gemma to be remembered for how she passed away. She achieved a lot in her 42 years. One of her talents was photography. I came across some of her photographs this week and thought I would show you some. Tiffany and I are thinking of having cards made and selling them to raise funds for a good cause xx

Dear Victoria

Beautiful photographs…what a talent Gemma possessed.

It’s such a lovely idea to make them into cards.

Hope you’re feeling better.

Dear Kate,
What a wonderful life you made for your children  the fact the stone comes from a place of such happy memories is enough on its own, even if Lisa’s ashes arnt there it can still be a special place to visit and plant some pretty flowers around it, perhaps some of Lisa’s favourite ones  as you know I like to visit Matt’s grave his headstone is portland stone and we have just got two lovely pots to match it, his army brothers will visit on the 5th and we will raise a toast to our precious boy, its not that I think of him being there but that we think of him when we are there visiting , we take a picnic rug and just sit and chat, it like he’s still part of my day if you get what I mean,
Much love Michelle xxxx

My Goodness Victoria they are absolutely beautiful, what a talent Gemma had ! It would be lovely to have cards printed and then other people could enjoy all the lovely images she captured, you should send the deer one to country file, we have their calendar every year as half the money goes to children in need, please share more with us I can imagine she has lots, you could have one of those books printed for her boys using her photos, you must be so so proud of Gemma
Sending you much love Michelle xxxx

Dear Jim, It’s really not surprising and I think we have all been there. I went through a stage of not being able to wait until 6pm! xx

Dear Kate, that all sounds so lovely. What an amazing childhood they had. We too live in a fairly rural area on the edge of the Cotswolds and feel so loved and supported. My children have all grown up here and it is part of who they are.
Michelle, I loved the photos of Matts final resting place and the idea that you take a coffee and go and sit with him. You inspired me and I am planning something similar for Gemma. But how I wish we didn’t have to make such decisions xxx
