Dear Sheila Me too I always cut phils hair and he would let me trim his beard. I used to enjoy doing it.
He had back problems so I would warm his heat pad in the microwave.
I sometimes got tense in my neck and shoulders. He would massage me.
It used to help me so much. How I miss his healing touch.
Been crying a lot lately. Yesterday his beloved jag broke down on our first trip to the caravan.
I got upset just seeing it behind us on the breakdown truck.
Strange thing happened though. When the rescue truck arrived we were all shocked to see it was Andy, a childhood friend of my son and daughter.
It was lovely to see a friendly face because we felt vulnerable parked in a layby on a busy road. Myself my daughter and 14 year old grandaughter.
I asked him to take us to a garage.
Looks like it could be the headgasket.
Ive been talking to Phil telling him I will get it fixed.
We decided he was coming to the caravan with us and when we broke down he sent Andy.

Hi Ladies, One thing we always did was kiss each other goodbye and wave til we were out of sight.
We would be just going to work but didnt matter.
A couple of weeks ago I was going out with my two sisters.
My younger sisters husband was going on a business trip to Canada.
We asked had he left yet and was she going to wave him off. She said no his flights not til later, he ll be fine.
I cant even imagine that happening with us.
I suppose everyones different but I will never regret the way we were.
Sometimes I would think how lucky I am, and still am to have had him and such a loving affectionate relationship.
I know thats why Im suffering so much now and life will never be the same until we meet again, but its still been worth the pain,

Where I should everybody today?
I have sciatica for a week now !Also twited my ankle and fell grazing my knee!! Look and feel as I went to war
Hope you had good days
Sadie xx

Maybe this is why I fell - body without alignment. I feel awful - even wake with the pain at night. Also because of the pain I am grumpy!!!
Hope you sleep ok. My sleep has not been great
Sadie xx

I have no caffeine! Maybe my sleep will be forever disturbed!
It seems that people that sleep well tend to be slimmer!! Ohhh well…

Sadie, I used to have awful sciatica but I read about some stretching exercises which got rid of it for me. It’s difficult to describe but basically you stand facing a wall leaning on it with you beside the end of a table with the sore side against the table end. Now lift that leg up so it is flat on the table and you are standing with your weight on the OK leg. Bend at your waist reaching forward as far as you can and try to get hold of your ankle - can be tricky depending if you have long legs or not! If I get any twinges I do these exercir forearms up in front of you. Then you bend the OK knee and lean against the wall with that too. Then extend the affected leg behind and push that heel down flat on the floor. You will feel the stretching along the leg. Do this a few times and repeat during the day. Hopefully this will help a lot. The other exercise is to stand ses and it really stops the pain. Good luck xx

Thank you Maryjane
Will try it because the pain is not fun

Sadie, I always remember an exercise I was given by the physio to cope with my sciatica a few years ago. You lie face down, either on your bed or flood, I preferred the bed, anyway, arch your back into to pain so you’re reducing the tension in the sciatic nerve, then with your arms flat and your hands at your ear level raise your upper body, keeping your forearms flat on the surface, stretch up for 5, hold for 5, lower for 5, repeat 5 times then repeat the same action but stretch your arms fully, go back to the first exercise once more. When I was sitting exams and really feeling the agony, the physio said i should find a handrail, stand parallel facing it, arch my side into the painful.area and lean back, keeping hold of the handrail of course. I found this exercise very effective. ☆ Hope you feel more st ease with it soon. I did these exercises last night as I felt discomfort in the sciatic nerve, kept telling myself I had just been sitting awkward. (I hope).

Anyway hope this helps you ☆

Hi Sadsadies. Sounds like your in the wars. I have sciatica now and again and one of the excercises that work for me is with the good leg straight bend the poorly leg so that your foot is on the knee of the good leg , hold onto the back of a chair if uncertain and hold , release and do it again a few times. A bit like a heron. Good luck. Jx

I remember going to see Jethro Tull back in the sixties/seventies and Iain Anderson, the singer and flautist, used to stand like that for long periods of time while he played. I tried it, as one does, but kept falling over.

Dear Sheila I am exactly the same. Before Phil became ill we walked everywhere plus I was working.
Afterwards I walked alonside him on his mobility scooter.
After he died I only went out in cars .
I didnt want to go out without him so I became inactive.
We were eating out or snacking so I gained weight and became unfit. I also have sciatica so have only so many steps before I have to sit down for a few minutes.
In January I bought an excercise bike and am trying to eat more healthily.
Just in time my last bloodtest for di
abetes came back as prediabetes.
I attended a clinic that teaches you the obvious, healthy eating and excercise.
If you opt for this healthier way of living theres no reason it should go to full diabetes.
Ive never been thin because we loved our food and every outing had something to do with food involved.
This time I have to do something.
Ive been to the local park wher we used to park and walk into the town, Phil.on his scooter.
Thankfully its still a nice place to go,
Im still trying to look nice for Phil because I know hes still watching me. Probably saying as he always did, youre not fat just a bit chubby. I used to say thanks, I think,

These two letters really are so like me. I was very slim for many years, then when I started working with Brian I put quite a lot on, So off I went to WW and lost it, Then Brian became ill and I just did not bother I to ate biscuit, cake chocolate anything easy, Now the battle begins trying to lose it, Sign up again with ww and have started to lose it slowly, If he is watching he would be saying not matter what weight you are,you are you and that who I love.
It takes me out for a couple of hours as well. I cannot walk very far as I have breathing problems another good reason to lose the flab, I have also lost my confidence in walking on my own, as we always walked arm in arm.
Good luck with the bike,
Thinking of you all

I am not ready to go on a diet - have started exercising which is good. It helps me to get stronger, clears my mind and I see and talk to people .
Bike riding only when the weather is good !

This last week I did nothing. Went to osteopath and already feel a bit better. The foot I sprang yesterday is swollen and beautifuly purple.

All thiese pains aches highlights Jack’s absence. No one to make my hot water bottle, to hold my hand when is really painful. It highlights how lonely it is
Sadie x

Dear Sheila You make me laugh. I had
the same problem with the excercise bike.
Ive never had to worry about assembling things before, Phil always did it.
It took a while but I got there eventually. Did have to send my son a couple of pics saying is this right? I also referred to youtube.
Was very pleased with myself.
Youre right about instructions being written by men. Women are much more descriptive. Good luck, Im sure youll have it sorted soon.

Where is everyone today??
Friday evenings are so very lonely!

I shared with my children about my experience last night but I don’t think they believe

At 5 am I woke up , had a look at my mobile and there it was Jack’s name regarding a phone call!

Can this type of thing happen?

Evening Sadie,

Jack did, it was a subtle message, I’m so happy for you. It’s a wonderful way of Jack letting you know he’s still with you.

Blessings
