Yes Mum89. I also feel that everyone else has forgotten especially his brother. It hurts. I just want them to talk about him. I will not move on and just want to keep his memory alive. Life is so cruel. We are sad at our loss and sad the way they seem to be forgotten ![]()
Itās 55 weeks tomorrow since I lost my beautiful son. I feel exactly the same as you. I donāt think weāll ever feel any different.
Yes, I feel like everyone got back to life as usual while mine just stopped. Iāll never get to hug him or see him again. I am struggling. Thanks for reading
Thank you ladies I thought it was just me.
It may be 69 weeks but although time is flying by I feel stuck in thatfirst few days, I know every day that passes is a day closer to being with my son i just wish I could hurry up and get there.
I still cant accept he has gone, it all doesnāt feel real somehow

Mum89. 73 weeks for me next Tuesday. My hubby (Laurenās step dad) is at the same stage as me. I feel that her girl friends have all moved on but then I donāt blame them, they have a different grief to me. I talk about Lauren to anyone who will listen. I have bad days and not so bad days. If I had a pound for every time I said 'itās not fair, why my Lauren? ā that and āoh Lauren, where are you? Please come and get me. ā
Love and hugs and understanding to all the mums on here.

Hello ladies
Im really struggling again today ![]()
Ive been told not to keep mentioning my beautiful Elizabeth as its ābeing morbid ā. I canāt just put her to the side, she was my beautiful daughter and I wish I was with her now. Ive got all Elizabethās clothes and personal belongings from her flat in my back bedroom and im not ready to sort it all out but family are mithering me to get rid of it.
I will never be the same person again my heart is shattered
.
Sending my love and virtual hugs
to everyone on here and Thankyou for listening to me. Xx

We had to get rid of a lot of Laurenās possessions as she had a house full and she was a shopaholic. 24 pairs of blue jeans, 80 pairs of shoes and so on. A lot of her expensive evening style clothes Iāve got in storage at the moment so her daughters can sell them when ready. I have kept and wear a lot of her clothes that fit me. She went from being a size. 6 to a 10/12 so the bigger ones I have. I also have one of Laurenās suitcases full of oversize large hoodies and cardigans. I keep it zipped up and when Iām really down I go and stick my head in the case and sniff up. I can smell my Lauren in that case with those clothes. Itās her perfume, her shower gel, laundry tabs, room diffuser. A mix of everything that was uniquely Lauren .
Donāt get rid of anything until you are ready, Sharon 1993.
Iām sending you love and hugs
Hi sharon1993
Bless you my heart goes out to you because I know exactly how you feel. You hang on to whatever you want, I am doing. Our children mean the world to us and none of us can get to grips with what happened. I cant give you any advice as I too cry every day. But I can send love and hugs

Sharon 1993,
Please do what you want with her belongings. It is no oneās business what you do with them or when. No one understands the loss of s child until it happens to them and I donāt wish that on anyone. Iām so glad I have you all to chat with ![]()
Thankyou ladies
Im so lonely and Empty.
I cant cope without Elizabeth anymore. My counsellor said that I need trauma counselling now as its so deep. I just bloody want my baby back in my arms. I pray that Comes for me soon.
I agree nobody knows what it feels like for us parents and I wouldnāt wish this on anyone.
Love Sharon

Our boy died in another part of the country where he was at uni. We brought every one of his belongings home to his childhood bedroom. Everything has been put into his wardrobe, drawers, shelves etc. We charge all his tech stuff and his phone every few days. My husband and I just canāt bear the thought of getting rid of anything belonging to him so we have agreed to keep everything forever.
You do what you want to do with your daughterās belongings. Donāt let anyone bully you into getting rid of her things if you donāt want to. They are all we have left.
Sending you loads of love xxx
Hi letty68
Thankyou for your reply.
Iāve just been and sat in her old bedroom before she moved out 5yrs ago. Thatās where all her things are kept. Ive still got her phone sheād just got it on contract 3wks before she passed so the company gave me the phone and cancelled the contract.
Im not ready yet to sort through her things as I feel like Iām intruding on her things I know Elizabeth would mind as we were very very close.
I told my husband last night that im not ready , he says I need to be admitted to the hospital as im morbid and now ignoring me completely.
Sending love

I dont think you are being morbid nor do I think you need to be in hospital! You are grieving.
I am still a complete mess after 69 weeks, Iām so possessive of things my son touched etc. And make no apologies for it.
I miss my boy endlessly as all these mums do and this will never change. We all long to be with our babies too.
You surround yourself with your daughters things bless you.

Awww Sharon
Thatās just awful. Heās obviously at a different stage in his grief than you. You need to do what is right for you. Donāt let anyone force you into doing anything that youāre not ready for. That will only set you back and fill you full of regrets in the future. Maybe in the future you may feel able to sort her belongings but as Iāve said before , I know Iāll never be at that stage and Iāll keep everything belonging to my son forever ![]()
Sending you loads of strength xxx
Hi ladies
Many thanks for your replies.
Im so lonely and ive literally had enough ![]()
Everyday without Elizabeth is torture as i know every parent feels after losing their precious children.
Im not sorting Elizabethās things out as im going to leave them packed away. They were her things and them being in my house is like part of Elizabeth is here constantly.
Just sat with a brew alone again.
Sending everyone ![]()

Thankyou ladies/gents
Im just so grateful i can say what i need to express and not get ridiculed for it.
We will never get over losing our precious children. It should be us first not them.
I lost 2 more family members within 6wks of losing my Elizabeth. My godmother died 5wks after Elizabeth and my cousins Son aged 31yrs 6wks after Elizabeth to sepsis. 2025 was a horrible year.
Love and best regards to everyone
