Debsie, I’ve still got several of the outfits Mary wore to big doe’s like weddings, and two wedding dresses all boxed and wrapped in tissue paper, in my loft belonging to my two girls!
Six months of loo rolls - well that’s six at least!
It’s cold and wet in the south of France too. My friend in the UK said I wasn’t missing anything by being here rather than in the UK. I had to bite my tongue, and not respond ‘except Mary’. She’d be mortified if she thought she’d upset me.
Lizzy, I didn’t really like shopping with Mary - she would take ages just to buy a piece of Chorizo for example! Let alone clothes shopping! I had Peanut Butter Chicken and rice tonight - thanks to Mary, as it was just a dish for one and we’d not got round to eating it before now.
Peaches - you can always send me the alcohol! I really must try these ionisers, as I really suffer from sinuses. I cleared most of Mary’s clothes and make up etc here today. Easier than I thought. I did get cross with the foot high Sacred Heart statue of Jesus, which the local Nuns refurbished and gave to Mary when we first bought this home. She was so touched by their generosity. But I still can’t get rid of it as it meant so much to her - much like the religious things in her dressing room at home which was her parent’s bedroom.
It’s certainly not easy to maintain two homes Peaches, so I can understand your husband being reticence.
Seems like we’ve all had a reasonable or even a good day today. Long may they endure!
I still have the suit I wore to my daughter’s wedding 25 yrs ago it was a a navy shift dress with matching jacket size 10/12, could never wear it as I had gone up too a size 14, but I lost a lot of weight during my husband’s illness and decided to wear it to his funeral, he would’ve liked the fact that after all the yrs I could wear it again xxx
Of course now with living alone and comfort eating I once again cannot fit into it, just had a thought if I’m slim when I die I could be dressed in that suit in the coffin, a suit only worn for 3 special occasions since purchased in 1999 !
What do you think?
Lizzy - what I would give for a lovely box of chocolates right now! I think you should hang on to your equipment, you’d be annoyed if you got rid and then had to buy it all again! I reckon we should all post our wedding day photos on here. Mine would be good for a laugh!
Mary would think nothing of spending £400 to £600 on a dress for a wedding (let alone our own). Plus the hand made hats! She never told me how much they were so I guess they were mega expensive, but she always looked $1 million in them. I’m not sure how much to sell hers for either. In our wedding photos she’s much like Farah Fawcet-Major - hair and all! Like Princess Diana later in life.
Funny 30 mins ago I was looking all over the house for choc just had a craving settled for 2 liquorice caramels but not the same ! As I’m writing this I forgot about my grandkids treat tin, will get something chocolatey out of there to have with my cup of tea later xxx
Georgi, when you are typing a message, you can select the 6th icon from the left (a little rectangle with what looks like a mountain inside). Then search on your device for the photo you want to add.
I see that, Lizzy. I am a technosaur, so I didn’t expect it to work. It is a photo of the male rhino my husband darted so it could be moved to where the girls are. I was shading his eyes from the sun after he was knocked out by the dart. While snoozing, he also had a vet check, some anti-parasitics and blood work done. Then the anti-dote and he woke up and we all scooted.
Debsie, lovely photo,
I don’t have any formal ones, I do have one sitting at the table, I look a bit tipsy, I will see if I’ve got any from my daughter’s wedding the year before. Same outfit .
